...a VERY RARE setting.
It is on Amtrak's Hilltopper being detoured over the Ex-Virginian Ry (N&W) As GR recalls, there was a rail replacement project going on on the N&W and the train was detoured between Roanoke and Burkeville on the ex-VGN. The train made a stop at Altavista to handle the passengers to and from Lynchburg who were taxied the 22 miles.
