The MPI MP14B is a low-emissions diesel switcher locomotive built by MotivePower Industries. It is powered by two Cummins QSK19C I6 engines with each one developing 700 horsepower (522 kW) and creating a total power output of 1,400 horsepower (1,040 kW). [1]
The MPI MP14B is nearly identical to the MPI MP21B except that it has one less engine.

Originally converted from CP 1600 (GMD GP9u). it became CP GG20B 1700:1. Retired and resold as AMTK 599. Sighted in Alyth yard in Calgary, AB.
Oct 2006. Reported headed to In December 2006 599, was reported on lease from Railpower Hybrid Technologies, financed by a State Grant from the California South Coast Air Quality Management District, was at Los Angeles Redondo for intended use as a switcher, It never reported as being used. Later sent to City Of Industry CA in January 2008. The lease on this unit ceased and in June 2008 it was renumbered to RPRX2406 and leased to UP at West Colton CA |
