is at Union Station during the period that Amtrak wanted the
railroads business cars painted in Amtrak colors if they wanted
to use them on their trains. #1 was built in 1956 by Pullman
Standard and the Illinois Central shops. This car is still in
use by the CN. |

Pacific Sands is the only Pacific sleeper
with the interior layout intact (no handicap roomette), a Pullman Co. Armour yellow original scheme from its early years of service, and original solex green tinted glazing. |

When built, Pacific Sands, ( along with
24 sister cars out of the 50 built,) received a two tone gray paint job. Within two years, all 25 cars were repainted into the Armour yellow Overland route scheme, as seen in the pictures. |

Harlem lines. They were retired by the mid-1980s. Both cars are believed in storage, with fire damage and vandalism, in Albany NY. |

Whippany NJ Built as ATSF 1572 it became AMTK 8113 when sold to Amtrak. Retired 1976. Rebuilt to HEP compatibility by private owner and assigned AMTK 800-number 800133 at which time it was also named Epicurus. The car is still at Whippany in 2013. |
